2 1/2 Mile Walk
Parking: Checkendon Church (small public car park).
Coordinates 51.542006, -1.044476
Footpaths are easy to follow. An on-road section on a quiet lane.
Coordinates 51.542006, -1.044476
Bus: The Southern tip of the route is about half a mile from Woodcote on the X40 route - check Thames Travel website.
At the southern tip of the route is the 'Nuba Survival'. A striking, greater than life size, sculpture of 2 skeletons embracing. It stands by a collapsed barn in a field. There is no signage - just walk up the edge of the field. More info here:
The other sculptures are found on the footpath from the equestrian centre back to the church. The owner was passing on a quad bike as we were admiring the sculptures and chatted to us about them
Walked with Tony 27th March 2021.

A haha with a hedge. The owners of Checkendon Court more anxious to keep out prying eyes than to keep their view. |
