Off Road Exploration

17 mile cycle ride. Lots of off road - some of it pretty steep & rough, although I rode all but one short hill. I came home straight down the main road, which I probably wouldn't do again as it was busier than I expected. 

My first significant bit of off-roading this year - been waiting for a dry spell for the mud to dry out. Really enjoyed it despite drizzly weather

2 1/2 Mile Walk Footpaths are easy to follow. An on-road section on a quiet lane. Parking: Checkendon Church (small public car park). Coordinates 51.542006, -1.044476 Bus: The Southern tip of the route is about half a mile from Woodcote on the X40 route - check Thames Travel website. At the southern tip of the route is the 'Nuba Survival'. A striking, greater than life size, sculpture of 2 skeletons embracing. It stands by a collapsed barn in a field. Pub walk - Harpsden to Binfield Heath

3.5 mile walk. Currently the pub in question - the Bottle and Glass is serving coffee from a converted horse box in the mornings. In the afternoons & evenings the 'Burger Barn' is open for meals. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll from Harpsden to Binfield Heath, having a good stare at the (very) posh houses on the way.
